I think Google exiting out of China after it was hacked by Chinese cyber spies, trying to access emails of human rights activists is an admirable stand to make, especially since China could have been a big market for them (Source). Having to operate with the condition of censoring their service is one thing, staying there while their technology and assets are being used to endanger the lives and the rights of other human beings has definitely pushed Google to do the right thing and leave.
